Some 50 years after 3M introduced the industry's original insulation displacement connector (IDC), 3M Scotchlok IDC's continue to offer quick installation and reliability. They are easy to use and can save time. To install one, just squeeze-- no stripping or twisting required. The 3M Scotchlok IDC Connector 564 electrically connects two through (run) wires and insulates the connection.
3M Crimping Tool E-9BM, Linesman Pliers or Multigrip (Slip Joint) Pliers are the recommended installation tools for this connector
Suitable for control circuit wiring, fixture wiring, appliance wiring, signal and PA systems and automotive/boat/RV wiring
Accommodates 18 to 14 AWG solid/stranded (tap) and 12 to 10 AWG solid/stranded (run)
